Orland Park PD's Annual Bike Ride For Special Olympics Illinois Returns August 24

ORLAND PARK, IL — The Orland Park Police Department's late summer bike ride to benefit Special Olympics Illinois returns Sunday, August 24. The ride begins and ends at Fattie's Pub in Orland Park, 14420 John Humphrey Dr.
Check-in and registration begins at 7 a.m. and the ride begins at 8 a.m. The ride is open to those ages 12 and up. The cost is $30 per person and all proceeds benefit Special Olympics Illinois.
Pre-registration is available until Friday, August 22. Register online at orlandpark.org/bikeride or in person utilizing the form obtainable from the Village Hall or the Orland Park Police Station.

"The Police Department Bike Ride for Special Olympics has always been a beloved community event, offering a scenic ride through the beautiful streets of Orland Park," said Mayor Jim Dodge. "It's inspiring to see Orland Park’s residents come together for this great cause, demonstrating the strength and spirit of our community. I look forward to supporting this great tradition that unites us all."
The 14-mile course will travel through business, residential and park settings of picturesque Orland Park. A water break is held midway through the ride. A complimentary buffet with coffee and soft drinks will be available at Fattie’s following the ride.

"Each summer, the department looks forward to hosting this event and it’s a community favorite," said Orland Park Police Chief Eric Rossi. "It’s not a race, but a relaxed, group-paced ride where everyone stays together. We strongly recommend that all participants wear bicycle helmets."
Online registration is encouraged. Those returning forms in person must return forms to the Orland Park Police Department at 15100 South Ravinia Avenue or to the Village Hall at 14700 South Ravinia Avenue by Friday, August 22. Cash, checks and credit cards may be used to register with checks made payable to Special Olympics Illinois.
