Orland Park To Recognize National Apprenticeship Week: Board

National Apprenticeship Week takes place from Nov. 15 - 21, officials said.

ORLAND PARK — After a visit to Pipefitters Local 597 training facility, village officials issued a proclamation to recognize the week of Nov. 15-21 as National Apprenticeship Week in village calendars.

The designated week has been nationally recognized for the past seven years, though village officials said they wanted to recognize local apprenticeships and the impact they have on Orland Park's economy.

"We encourage all residents to join in on recognizing the importance of the involved learning workforce development through learning and earning programs to create an inclusive economy and brighter future," Cynthia Katsenes said on behalf of Mayor Keith Pekau during a Nov. 1 board meeting.
