Orland Park Recreation Fees To Increase This November
"Our supplies and services continue to increase," said Recreation and Parks Director Ray Piattoni.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A fee increase for the Orland Park Sportsplex, open gym/open soccer drop-in and Civic Center will go into effect early November, after the village board unanimously approved of the proposal at Monday night's Board of Trustees meeting held at the Orland Park Police Station.
The increase in fees comes as minimum wage will be $12 per hour beginning Jan. 2022, and will go up $1 per year through 2025, where it will then be $15, according to Recreation and Parks Director Ray Piattoni.
"Our supplies and services continue to increase," Piattoni said, adding that the village hasn't increased fees for Sportsplex, drop-in soccer and open gym since 2015.

Current fees for open gym/open soccer drop-in are $4 for residents, $8 for nonresidents in 8th grade or younger and $15 for nonresidents in high school or older. The increase will bring the resident fee to $5, nonresidents 8th grade or younger to $10 and nonresident high school and up to $17.
"That would bring an increase in our projected revenues to 21 percent to $132,000 a year in just open gym fees," Piattoni said.

Piattoni said in 2019, the Sportsplex, located at, 11351 W. 159th St, had 12,415 residential visits. The facility recorded 3,151 nonresident visits from those in eighth grade or lower, and 2,251 visits from nonresidents in high school or older, according to Piattoni.
When approving the request, the board also approved of increasing fees for gym and soccer field rentals for the Sportsplex, Franklin Loebe Center and Orland Park Health and Fitness Center. The last time there was a rate increase was in 2018, Piattoni said. The new rates will increase by $5 for each.
Piattoni said these increases are expected to increase revenue by seven percent, totaling to $305,205.
The new fees will go into effect on Nov. 1. See the village board meeting below:
