Orland Park Schools Cancel, Go Remote Due To Winter Storm

ORLAND PARK, IL — Several local school districts are closing for remote learning Wednesday due to a winter storm predicted to hit portions of Illinois.
District 135:
- Will conduct remote learning Wednesday.
- Students are asked to refer to the e-Learning Plan.
District 230:

- Students will have e-learning on Wednesday.
- Beginning in the morning, students can log into Skyward for their assignments.
Christian Hills School:
- School will be cancelled Wednesday with no online learning.
St. Michael School:

Kirby District 140:
- Will conduct remote learning Wednesday for students and all staff.
District 146:
- Students will be required to log onto remote learning Wednesday.
- Further instructions can be found on Seesaw or Schoology.
Pritzker on Tuesday activated 130 members of the Illinois National Guard to ensure that all state resources are in place to prepare for Winter Storm Landon. Forecasters are saying that certain portions of Illinois could see between 1-2 feet of snow between Tuesday night and Thursday.
Closer to Chicago, forecasters with the National Weather Service are expecting 5-11 inches of snow starting Tuesday night, with the heaviest expected south of the city. A second round of snow is expected to arrive Wednesday night into Thursday.
Central Illinois could see up to 20 inches of snow, with blizzard/whiteout conditions likely. Western Illinois and into the Chicago area will remain under winter storm warning, with heavy rain in Southern Illinois.
