Orland Park Woman Faces Felony, Misdemeanors After Soccer Fight: Cops

ORLAND PARK, IL — A 36-year-old Orland Park woman faces a series of criminal charges in connection with an incident that followed a fight among soccer fans outside a bar in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood.

Amanda Jimenez has been charged with one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon with a previous conviction and misdemeanor charges of possession of cannabis and driving on a revoked license, Chicago Police said on Tuesday.

Jimenez was also cited for driving an uninsured vehicle, driving without a valid registration, and for possession of cannabis.

According to reports, Jimenez was seen fleeing Gold Coast Social, where police said a fight broke out among fans who were watching the World Cup at the bar. CWB Chicago reported that two Chicago police officers were injured in the fight.

Police arrested several people, including Cristian Munoz, 22, Cicero, who said punched a female officer in the face after she asked him to move out of the street following the fight. The report said that Jimenez was driving a vehicle that matched the description of the one that was seen leaving the scene of the fight.

The report said police found a loaded handgun inside a bag that was in a purse inside the car and that Jimenez admitted the purse and phone inside belonged to her. Prosecutors said that Jimenez has previous convictions of aggravated fleeing in 2013 and 2015 and an aggravated DUI conviction in 2013.

She was released after posting just a $100 bond after being arrested, according to the report.
