Profane, Sexist Letter Alarms Orland SD135 Board President
"This is what the nasty rhetoric in our town and country has led to. Think about it. This was sent to a school board member, by a coward."

ORLAND PARK, IL — The School Board President of Orland School District 135 has gone to police after receiving an alarming letter with profane language on Monday.
Board President Linda Peckham-Dodge said she was taken by surprise Monday when the district office forwarded a letter, addressed to her, that had been post marked at the end of May. The letter read, "Linda Peckham-Dodge, you are the dumbest C---. How the F--- did you get elected, F------ C---."
Peckham-Dodge, alarmed, took to the Facebook, sharing a photo of the letter, blocking out the profanity.

Peckham-Dodge told Patch she had recently come back from a long trip, and that the letter had been waiting for her, unopened, for about two months.

"I really have no idea why someone would send this to me," Peckham-Dodge told Patch. "It was postmarked at the end of May, sent to me at the district office. They forwarded it unopened. We've been on a long trip and just got back, so it's been sitting for almost two months."
Peckham-Dodge told Patch she handed the letter over to the Orland Park Police Department Monday afternoon to look into this incident further. Orland Park Police Sgt. Richard Whalen told Patch there is an open investigation into who sent the letter to Peckham-Dodge, and that consequences are up in the air. It is unclear if any laws were broken, as the letter sent may be protected by the First Amendment.
