Orland Trustees Delay Trash Contract Decision
A committee will further discuss how to proceed with a new trash pickup contract with hopes of offering better service to residents.

Weekly recycling pickup may still be on the horizon, but Orland residents are going to have to wait at least a little bit longer for an official decision, Sun-Times Media reports.
The village board was expected to decide during Monday night’s meeting whether to enter into a 10-year contract with current partner Waste Management. The new terms are anticipated to include weekly trash pickup and a fall leaf pickup agreement. The village also hopes for Waste Management to provide residents new, uniform trash containers.
A committee is scheduled to further discuss the issue during an April 15 meeting. The current contract with Waste Management is set to expire in October.
