ORLAND PARK, IL â Police in Orland Park have confirmed there is a planned protest set to take place at a major intersection in the village on Friday. It's the latest of a number of protests that have taken place in the past few weeks following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Police said on social media Wednesday that the protest is set for 3-6 p.m. on June 12 at the intersection of 143rd Street and La Grange Road. All four corners of the intersection are expected to include protestors.
"We are in communication with the organizers of the protest as well as business owners in the vicinity and expect a peaceful, family-oriented expression of first amendment rights to take place," police wrote in a statement.
