Patch: Tell us a bit about your business or organization:
Kenneth & Angela Townsend: Robeks Juice is the ultimate destination for refreshing and delicious beverages, quick snacks and wholesome meal replacements. Our vast selection of hand-crafted smoothies, signature juice blends, and premium toasts are made with the freshest ingredients, ensuring unparalleled taste, quality, and nutrition. With options to suit various tastes and dietary preferences, our goal is to provide a burst of flavor and essential nutrients to fuel any type of lifestyle.

Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?
Kenneth & Angela Townsend: Robeks Orland Park opened in June 2023. Our Grand Opening will be July 29th & 30th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. where the community can indulge in free smoothies and exclusive giveaways.

Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Kenneth & Angela Townsend: I Being health-conscious individuals who prioritize fitness and mindful consumption, we were naturally inclined to seek out options that align with our values. Upon discovering the menu offerings at Robeks, we were captivated by the combination of health benefits and exquisite taste they provided. Our aim was clear: to create a space that defied the notion of “fast food”, where we could serve customers nutritious and delicious options in a timely manner. It was our own experience as loyal Robeks customers that solidified our decision.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Kenneth & Angela Townsend: At Robeks, we understand that our customers often have specific goals, such as weight loss or a to live a healthier lifestyle. Our most common advice is to embrace customization while still enjoying your favorite foods. We encourage customers to inform us about any dietary preferences or restrictions so that we can provide tailored recommendations. For instance, if someone is looking to reduce inflammation, we might suggest incorporating ingredients like turmeric into their smoothie orders. Our goal is to offer personalized guidance and ensure that every customer can find options that align with their individual needs and aspirations.

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Kenneth & Angela Townsend: Ken: One of the most fulfilling aspects of my job is witnessing the joy on customers' faces when they try our recommended products for the first time. It's an incredible feeling to see them fall in love with our offerings and become loyal, repeat customers. Additionally, working with our staff is a source of immense pride. Many of them are taking on their first job, and it's remarkable to witness their growth and dedication. Some of them even excel at running the store, surpassing our own abilities to manage and lead others. Angela: I find great fulfillment in engaging with the community and giving back in a personalized way. I constantly strive to impart more than just smoothie-making skills to our staff. It's about teaching them how to effectively delegate tasks and helping them understand the importance of enjoying a healthy meal. I am passionate about empowering our team to develop both personally and professionally and seeing their growth brings me tremendous satisfaction!

Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Kenneth & Angela Townsend: Exceptional customer service and a commitment to providing quality products. We strive to provide a great guest experience every time and we train our staff to not only deliver quality products but also let them know they are a vital piece in creating that experience. Additionally, community involvement is paramount to us. We actively support local initiatives such as little league teams, sponsorships, and events. Being an integral part of the community is our way of making a positive impact on our neighborhood. As a result, we received recognition as the “New Business of the Year” by the Will County African American Business Association which was a true testament to the contributions of our team.
