ORLAND PARK, IL — A food service employee at Carl Sandburg High School has tested positive for the new coronavirus. Sandburg Principal Jennifer Tyrrell confirmed the diagnosis on the Consolidated High School District 230 website Saturday.

The last time the employee was at the high school in Orland Park was on March 16, the final day before all K-12 schools in Illinois were ordered to shut down. The employee was not part of the food distribution preparation that took place at the school on March 18.

"All food preparation areas had been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to distribution," Tyrrell said.
