Sandburg Senior Thanks Teachers Union For College Scholarship

ORLAND PARK, IL — A senior at Carl Sandburg High School has received what she calls a "generous" scholarship from a local teachers union. Elise Blinn says she will use the scholarship from the Southwest Suburban Federation of Teachers AFT Local 943 to help her pursue a degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Here's a note of thanks she has submitted to Orland Park Patch through her mother, Marria Blinn.
