Send Patch Your Ramadan Displays: Best Decor Contest
Do you have the best Ramadan decorations in town? Send us photos and a description for Patch's 2021 contest to be considered for a prize.

ILLINOIS — If you've spent days or weeks painstakingly hanging strands of lights inside or outside your house and on your trees and shrubs, or hauling moons and signs out to your lawn, Patch wants to hear from you.
To say that the past year has been strange is an understatement. While our favorite community traditions and celebrations have been postponed or gone virtual, we can still get into the spirit of Ramadan.
We'll be compiling entries for our first holiday Ramadan decor contest, and readers can virtually tour the best holiday light displays in the Chicago area and select their favorite displays for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card. Patch received more than 200 submissions for our Halloween display list.

In 2020, Muslims celebrated Ramadan inside, with no family gatherings and congregations. In an effort to bring a little more joy to Muslims in the area, Patch wants to use this opportunity to share your Ramadan displays with those who may not have family and friends around, or displays themselves.

Send photos and/or links to videos of your Ramadan display to Yasmeen.sheikah@patch.com. (We prefer that the homeowner submit his or her own yard/house interior or an immediate neighbor or close relative). A good time to photograph your outdoor display is at dusk. Please include the following information:
- A photo or video of the display. (Yes, links to TikTok videos work too)
- Your family name
- Your town
- A detailed description of your display
- If your display is one that people can drive past and see, provide an address. (Optional)
We will narrow down a list of displays for readers to vote on towards the end of Ramadan, and a winner will be selected prior to Eid, based on the display that receives the most votes from the public. These don't have to be huge displays, similar to Christmastime. If you have a little corner in your home that you think people would appreciate seeing/learning more about, share with Patch, so we can share with the community! In the end, this is a way to get in the Ramadan spirit, and explain why you have holiday decorations out in Spring.
IMPORTANT: Only submit photos you have taken yourself or are authorized to post on Patch. By submitting a photo, you're giving Patch permission to publish it for this feature and future stories.
Patch will keep updating the list through the end of Ramadan, so keep an eye on your daily morning newsletters and the Patch Facebook pages. (Wait a second, you haven't subscribed to your FREE local Patch newsletter? Get started here.)
