ORLAND PARK, IL â A man and woman from Blue Island were hospitalized, after a road rage shooting on 143rd Street and Will-Cook Road Wednesday at 12:19 p.m., according to Orland Park Police Chief Joe Mitchell. Police said the victims appear to have been targeted and isolated.
The shooting happened near KinderCare, located at 14301 Pinewood Dr. When police arrived, Mitchell said the man, 23, and the woman, 31, were both found shot several times in a Hyundai. Approximately seven shots were fired from one vehicle into another, and The Orland Fire Protection District later took the victims to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Mitchell.
The shooting suspects fled north on Will-Cook Road in a black Ford Fusion with spoke wheels, heavily tinted windows and no front license plate, according to Mitchell. It is unclear where the incident began Wednesday, but the chief said six shell casings were found at the scene.
