Spirit Of America 'Whirls & Wheels Weekend' In Orland To Benefit Three Area Nonprofits
A classic car show, carnival and live music planned for Spirit of America weekend Sept. 19–21 at Orland Park Crossing.

ORLAND PARK, IL — An Orland Park automotive services shop will again hold its classic car show and carnival Sept. 20, with proceeds to benefit three local nonprofits.
Midas, 14810 S. LaGrange Rd. will host its 12th annual Spirit of America event, with proceeds benefitting The Orland Township Food Pantry, Shady Oaks Camp, and Our Fallen Hero Foundation. Shady Oaks Camp is a Homer Glen-based summer camp for individuals with disabilities. Our Fallen Hero Foundation honors Aaron Toppen, a Mokena native and Army PFC who died in June 2014 in an incident of friendly fire while stationed in the Zabul province of Afghanistan
The Spirit of America event will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. at Orland Park Crossing, 14225 S. 95th Ave. A carnival featuring rides, games and food will also be on-site Friday, Sept. 19 from 5 to 11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 20 from 1 to 11 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 21 from 1 to 10 p.m. Unlimited ride passes can be purchased for $35.

Organizers hope for a show of over 200 cars and motorcycles, with planned live performances by House of Music and Marty Kelly and Friends. The event will also feature food for sale, with proceeds benefiting the Orland Township Food Pantry.
Free admission for the public. To register a car or motorcycle, there is a $25 fee per vehicle. Attendees can participate in voting for their favorite entries via a QR code provided at the event, and 10 vehicle owners will be recognized with awards from the judges.
