St. Michael School COVID Case: First Grade Class Quarantined
A student has tested positive for the coronavirus at St. Michael School in Orland Park, resulting in a first grade class quarantined.

ORLAND PARK, IL â A first grade class at St. Michael School In Orland Park is now quarantining after a student tested positive for COVID-19, according to Manny Gonzales, the Archdiocese of Chicago's director of communications.
The class began their quarantine on Wednesday, after the school became aware of the case, according to Gonzales. Students in the class will participate in virtual learning until Oct. 27.
Gonzales said that in the meantime, the entire school building is getting a deep clean. He added that teachers have a professional development day scheduled for Thursday and Friday this week, where students are not in attendance.

When the school concludes its cleaning, students who were not in the positive student's class or in close contact will be welcomed back to the school, Gonzales said.
There are no additional cases reported at this time, according to Gonzales.
