Taste Of Orland Park Begins Friday With Coronavirus Precautions

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau encouraged Taste of Orland Park attendees to wear masks and wash their hands ahead of the food and entertainment festival scheduled for this weekend, according to a YouTube video posted by the village. Attendance will be limited to 2,000 to 2,400 people, Pekau said, about 20 percent of the event's normal capacity.

Taste of Orland Park is scheduled for July 31 to Aug. 2. This year's event will feature social distancing, extra handwashing and extra sanitation stations to help prevent coronavirus outbreaks, officials said. The village website also states there will be "more frequent cleaning of indoor facilities and seating areas."

Masks are encouraged, and outside food or beverages aren't allowed, except for one unopened bottle of water for adults and sippy cups for children.

The festival is set to begin at 5 p.m. Friday with country singer Abby Kasch on the main stage and end Sunday with an American English Beatles tribute, scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m.

Restaurants taking part in the event include Barraco's Pizza, Pita Pita, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Mo's Kitchen and more. A full list of the restaurants is available on the village website, but officials said it is subject to change.
