Tax Bills Delayed In Orland Township: Here's The New Due Date
Residents will receive their second installment tax bills later than usual, and the due dates will also be pushed, Assessor says.
ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Township residents will get their next property tax bill later than usual, also pushing back the deadline for payment, Orland Township Assessor Rich Kelly announced Monday.
Typically, second installment bills arrive in late-June, and are due around Aug. 1, according to a release from Kelly's office. This year, mailing and due dates are delayed by at least one month. Second installment payments will be due no earlier than Sept. 1, and it's possible the due date could be later.
"For decades, the county agencies involved in preparing property tax bills have been using a
1980’s-era mainframe computer system," Kelly said in a release. "The county has been phasing out the old mainframe for the last few years, but 2025 marks the first year in which the old system will be phased out completely."

This year's tax bills will be calculated in their entirety under the new system, Kelly said, causing the delay.
"Although we are experiencing growing pains with the new system this year, I am hopeful that the system will make it easier to issue tax bills on time in future years,” Kelly said.
