ORLAND PARK, IL — The deadline is approaching to purchase tickets for Orland Park's performance of a holiday classic — A Christmas Carol — village officials announced Tuesday.

The village theatre troupe will be performing the popular show from Dec. 17 - 19 and each performance will run about two and a half hours long, officials said.

In the play, which was later made into a movie, Ebeneezer Scrooge plays a wealthy curmudgeon who values his money over all else. After he's forced to face his selfish ways through visits from three ghosts on Christmas Eve, the old man recognizes the true meaning of Christmas and spends the day with his formerly overlooked loved ones.
