Tips Lead Orland Officers To Porch Pirate Arrest: Police
After a Ring doorbell camera caught a man stealing newly delivered packages to an Orland home, residents sent numerous tips to identify him.

ORLAND PARK, IL â The Orland Park Police Department arrested a man they say took two packages from two different homes on Antelope Lane in Orland. Police said one homeowner's Ring doorbell camera helped find the porch pirate.
Around 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 14, police said William Rivera, 61, of Chicago, was in the village working as a process server, when he was seen through the doorbell's camera, taking a package from the porch of a home. Police said another homeowner two houses down also had packages stolen from their porch. This prompted officials to share the Ring video on the Orland Park Police Department Facebook page, asking residents to help find the thief.

Police said Riviera waited for the delivery driver to leave before exiting his car parked across the street. Riviera is seen in the video wearing a "police-style badge on a chain holder" and holding some papers, while taking a package from the doorstep.
According to the department, a few days of receiving many tips to identify the man, lead investigators to Riviera. Police said he was charged with two counts of theft on the block Tuesday.
