Woman Injured In Orland Hills House Explosion
One woman suffered from burns in an explosion that gutted an Orland Hills house Sunday.

ORLAND HILLS, IL â One woman was injured in an explosion that destroyed an Orland Hills house and left several family members, including two dogs, without a home Sunday. Firefighters found the 60-year-old woman lying in the front yard of the house on the 16700 block of 93rd Avenue. She had been burned but was conscious, fire officials said. A fire blazed in the living room of the house behind her.
The woman was transported to Silver Cross and, later, transferred to the burn unit at Loyola Medicine for further treatment.
The woman's husband and a neighbor also were at the scene and were not injured. Fire crews rescued two family dogs, gave them oxygen and took them to PAWS for evaluation. The house, officials said, is not habitable.
