Orland Park, IL — Back-to-school season brings a mix of excitement and nerves — for students, parents and staff alike. Thankfully, Orland Park is home to everyday school heroes who help make the transition smoother and the school year a little brighter.

Please describe why this individual is a hero at your school.

Laura is my wife and a school bus driver for District 140. The kids love riding to school on her bus. She decorates her bus for each Holiday. The kids love it, especially at Halloween. She has a skeleton named Skully that sits in the front of the bus and the kids all want to sit with him. She goes out of her way to make sure the kids get to and from school safely. She's a great mom, grandmother, and my best friend. Kirby School District 140 is lucky to have such a devoted driver.

Laura is a devoted Mom, Grandmother, Aunt, and Bus driver. She helps everyone when needed and always puts herself last.
