District 64 to Cut 7 Non-Tenured Teachers

The Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 school board approved letting seven non-tenured teachers go.

Seven non-tenured teachers from Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 were let go after a special board meeting on April 8, according to theΒ Niles Herald-Spectator.

β€œWe annually do a reduction in force of some of the non-tenured teachers,” Board President John Heyde told the newspaper after the meeting.

These cuts come on top those to 14 part-time workers, reported the Niles Herald-Spectator. Flat enrollment numbers and an increase of tenured teachers returning from leave are leading to the changes.
