Park Ridge Police Blotter: Homeowner Tricked in Attempted Burglary
The following information was provided by the Park Ridge Police department. When an arrest is referenced it should not be considered a conviction.

Homeowner Tricked
A home in the 1400 block of Crain was burglarized on Sept. 13 after a white male in his 40s came to the front door and told the resident that there was a water leak next door.
The man told the woman that he needed to see her about the leak and the yard that was flooding. The man walked through the woman's house to the yard toΒ show her what he was talking about. The man talked on a walkie talkie and tried to keep the woman outside of the home.
When they reentered the home the woman noticed a bedroom drawer was open. The man then left. It does not appear that anything was taken.
Car Burglarized
A 2008 Chevy Suburban was burglarized on Sept. 18 in the first block of S. Prairie. A purse and money was taken from the vehicle.
Suspicious Incident
A man in a light brown or grey SUV followed a school bus full of studentsΒ on Sept. 16. The man began following the bus at Brophy and Rosemont and continued to follow the bus all the way to Lincoln School. The individual also stopped at Brophy and Β Devon when the bus stopped to pick up more students.
Theft
A patio umbrella was taken from the front of a restaurant in the first block of S. Northwest Highway on Sept. 13.
