1. Reconstruction plans are in the works at the intersection of Pioneer Parkway and University Street, Peoria Public Radio reports. Public Works Deputy Director and City Engineer Andrea Klopfenstein said plans include "new pavement... new traffic signals, some lighting, a bike path, and sidewalks." (WCBU)
2. More than 200 sports teams are in town for baseball and softball tournaments this weekend, WMBD reports. The St. Jude Brad Wallin Tournament is being held all week in Peoria and Chillicothe. (WMBD)
3. An event will be held this weekend "to bring awareness to unsolved homicides and stop violence" in the city, according to WMBD. "Purpose Through Pain" is set for Sunday at the East Bluff Community Center. (WMBD)
