2,907 Homes Still Without Power; Some Traffic Signals Not Working
After the severe storm Monday, the Plainfield Police Department is asking residents to remain cautious while driving.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Power outage continues in several Plainfield homes Tuesday morning after a severe storm ripped through the area. According to the Plainfield Police Department, no ETA has been provided for restoration.
Tornado warnings were issued for much of the Chicago area, with wind gusts of 80 mph, hail the size of a quarter and downed trees and power lines were reported as the severe weather passed through northern Illinois Monday.
As of 7 a.m. Tuesday, the storm knocked out power for almost 2,907 ComEd customers in Plainfield, according to the company's outage map. There were at least 16 power outages across the village during the storm, affecting 18.5 percent of all customers in Plainfield.

Plainfield police also said that several traffic signals remain out with stop signs deployed and several train crossings have been affected as well. Trains will also be traveling at reduced speeds.
"Please add extra time into your travel plans and drive cautiously," the Facebook post said.
