Anytime Fitness Reopens Friday As Illinois Enters Phase 4

The fitness club will require members to follow social distancing measures and wipe down equipments before and after use.

PLAINFIELD, IL — As Illinois enters Phase 4 of the governor's Restore Illinois plan, a beloved fitness center in the village is preparing to open its door Friday after a three-month hiatus.

Located at 23859 W. 135th St. in Plainfield, Anytime Fitness announced in a social media post Thursday that with strict safety guidelines in place, the center will be open to the public. However, the following directives need to be followed:

  • As per CDC guidelines, those feeling unwell are requested to remain at home.
  • Stickers will be placed to ensure rigid social distancing.
  • Equipments will be spaced out properly to ensure 6 feet distance.
  • The club will be quipped with extra sanitizing stations and members are required to use them.
  • Members should wipe down their equipment before and after use
  • Tanning and towel services will be temporarily unavailable.
  • Members are requested to not bring in a gym bag at this time, only water bottles and support equipments will be allowed.

The club had shut down on March 18 after the Illinois stay-at-home order had been issued and staff is excited to meet the community again.
