Plainfield Bathroom Spy Camera Guy Out of Jail in Less Than 3 Hours: Cops
He was charged with setting up a secret camera to watch a neighbor family use the bathroom.

JOLIET, IL — A Plainfield man arrested Tuesday for allegedly setting up a high tech secret camera so he could spy on a neighbor family when they used their bathroom got out of jail in less than three hours.
John Migetz, 57, posted a $100,000 bond for his release from the Will County jail Tuesday afternoon. Migetz faces felony charges of unauthorized video recording and unauthorized video recording outside a residence.
Migetz secretly video recorded a 37-year-old woman and a child who live down the street from him, according to a criminal complaint on file in Will County court.

The woman learned of Migetz’s creepy peeping after his wife happened upon his spy camera, according to a petition filed in Will County court.
“John’s wife had called the police because she had found a high tech camera system in their attic,” the woman said in a petition for a protective order.

“He had drilled two holes through his wall so the camera aimed directly down into my bathroom window,” she said. “The police looked at some footage and found it was of me, my husband and children. The police say they believe there was more but they need a warrant.”
The woman also said Migetz is “overly friendly” to her and her children.
“John is obsessed with me and his wife has told me there is more but she would not say what it was,” the neighbor said.
Migetz’s wife has since filed for divorce.
Migetz works as a an operations technology manager for McDonald’s, according to his LinkedIn page.
According to jail records, Migetz still lives up the street from the woman and child he was charged with secretly recording.
