PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield School District 202 will continue to provide free meal services through Aug. 26 to students 18 years and younger. This extension will allow students to continue to get food until school resumes remote learning on Aug. 31, according to a release.
District 202 and Aramark, the district’s contracted food service company, began offering free meals when school buildings were closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So far, they have served 234,415 meals since March 17.
Families can pick up five complete breakfasts and five complete lunches between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Wednesdays. The meals will be grab-and-go and meet USDA guidelines.
