PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department is teaming up with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency to collect unwanted and expired prescription medication as part of National Drug Take-Back Day on Oct. 26.

The free and anonymous event will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police headquarters, 14300 S. Coil Plus Drive. National Drug Take-Back Day happens twice each year, first in April and again in October.

The collection helps prevent medications from being flushed down the toilet and ending up in the local drinking water supply.
