Park District To Hold Meeting On Redeveloping Van Horn Woods

The district is holding a meeting on Aug. 18 to detail redevelopment plans in addition to expanding the DuPage River Trail, officials said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Park District will hold a public meeting on its river trail expansion plan next Wednesday, officials announced.

The meeting will detail the agency's plans to apply for the Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development program in addition to the Land Water Conservation Fund which will go towards the redevelopment of Van Horn Woods.

If granted, the funding would also contribute to purchasing land to expand the DuPage River Trail along Bentley Road.

The meeting will take place on Aug. 18 at the Van Horn Woods picnic shelter from 5-6:30 p.m. All are welcome, officials said.
