Plainfield Garage Fire Causes Smoke Damage To Whole House, 2 Cars
There were no injuries and all occupants of the home were able to escape safely prior to the firefighters' arrival.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A fire in a Plainfield home Sunday caused smoke damage to the entire building as well as two vehicles parked in the driveway, the fire department said.
Officials responded to a fire at 8:15 p.m. in the 2500 block of Caton Farm Road. Firefighters arrived on the scene to an attached garage that was fully engulfed in the fire that remained contained to the garage.
There were no injuries and all occupants of the home were able to escape safely prior to the firefighters' arrival.

The Plainfield Fire Protection District was assisted at the scene by the following departments: Channahon, Lockport, Minooka, Oswego and Troy. Assisting with coverage for additional calls during the fire within the Plainfield Fire Protection District were the following departments: Aurora Township, Bolingbrook, Homer, Northwest Homer and Romeoville.
The Plainfield Fire Protection District encourages everyone to plan a home fire escape plan and practice a fire drill. Test your smoke alarms monthly and change the batteries at least once a year.
