Plainfield To Host Community Food Drive For Hunger Action Month
The community food drive will benefit Bags of Hope, the Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry and the St. John Lutheran Church Food Pantry.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Organizations across Plainfield are teaming up to host a community food drive in September in light of National Hunger Action Month.
To help support local pantries, the Village of Plainfield, C.W. Avery Family YMCA, Plainfield Area Public Library, Plainfield Fire Protection District, Plainfield Park District, Plainfield School District 202 and Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce are working together to encourage locals to donate.
The food drive will benefit Bags of Hope, a private backpack food program; the Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry; and St. John Lutheran Church Food Pantry.

Non-perishable items are needed, including cereal, canned chicken and tuna, peanut butter and jelly, pasta and pasta sauce, flour and sugar, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, condiments, boxed potatoes, snacks, ramen, and macaroni and cheese. Personal hygiene items, baby products, household cleaning supplies and paper products are also welcomed.
