Plainfield PD Issue 100 Seatbelt, 66 Speeding Tickets In July 4 Effort

The annual Click It Or Ticket campaign also included 36 people receiving citations and four people being arrested over the weekend.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department handed out more than 100 seatbelt violations and issued 66 speeding tickets during a special enforcement campaign over the July 4 holiday weekend, officials announced on Friday.

The campaign, which was funded through a federal traffic safety grant, included more than 200 state and local law enforcement agencies around Illinois.

In Plainfield, officers also issued three distracted driving tickets and arrested four people for various driver’s license offenses, the department said. In addition, it also made one arrest on a warrant and issued 36 other citations during the annual Click It Or Ticket campaign, the department said.
