PLAINFIELD, IL — April was Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and Plainfield police issued a total of 66 citations during its month-long campaign, officials announced.

- 49 hands-free law violations
- 10 seat belt violations
- 4 speeding
- 1 child safety seat violation
- 1 expired registration
- 1 no insurance
Officers also made one arrest for no valid driver's license and one felony arrest for possession of a controlled substance.
The Plainfield Police Department joined Illinois State Police and multiple local agencies and highway safety partners for the enforcement effort.
