Plainfield Woman Dead After Falling Off Boat: Police

The 45-year-old was getting off a boat when she slipped and fell into the lake at South Harbor Drive.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A 45-year-old woman died after she fell off a boat into the 59th Street Harbor Wednesday, according to Chicago police. According to information from the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, she was a Plainfield resident.

The victim was getting off a boat when she slipped and fell into the lake at around 12:10 a.m. in the 5900 block of South Harbor Drive, police said.

She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition and later pronounced dead, police said.
