Police To Conduct Training On South Des Plaines Street Wednesday

A spokesperson for Plainfield police said the department will be running through scenario-based training such as domestic disputes.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police are conducting another day of training in the area of South Des Plaines Street Wednesday evening, officials told Patch Monday.

According to Commander Anthony Novak, residents can expect to see a large number of police officers and squad cars throughout the 15000 block of South Des Plaines Street, but said there is no need to worry.

The training is a routine "scenario-based training," Novak said, which includes run-throughs of possible domestic violence and rapid deployment situations. Since the scenarios will largely take place indoors, the street will remain open for traffic.
