Vacancy On Plainfield's Plan Commission: Applications Open

​The Village of Plainfield is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.​

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Village of Plainfield is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Plan Commission meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month to hear cases related to annexation, zoning, variance, site plan, special use, and preliminary and final plats. Commissioners then make recommendations to the Village Board.

"A Commissioner is required to have an open mind, understand the Village's Comprehensive Plan, and apply individual judgment in the public interest while fostering an intellectual and factual examination of the issues together with other commissioners in a public setting," village officials said of the position.

A background in architecture, engineering, environmental science or something similar is helpful but not required, officials said. The position entails between 5-10 hours of time per month, which includes preparing for and attending meetings. Attendance at most meetings would be expected.
