Garbage Truck On Fire Blocks Westbound I-90 Lanes For Hours: ISP

Illinois State Police confirmed troopers are still dealing with the vehicle fire that began around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

ROCKFORD, IL — A garbage truck on fire has been causing traffic delays on westbound I-90 since approximately 2:30 p.m., Illinois State Police told Patch.

District 15 troopers are currently on the scene near Harlem Road in Rockford. Officials said no injuries have been reported, but they are not sure when the truck will be cleared from the roadway.

At around 5 p.m. the waste management truck was still stopped on I-90 with smoke emitting from the back, according to a video taken by Twitter user RadioDoogie.
