November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month and National Family Caregivers Month, offering an important reminder to focus on those who have been touched by this disease. As a volunteer advocate with the Alzheimer’s Association, I understand the power of sharing my story to influence change. As a registered nurse for 25 years, I have had the privilege to care for many patients, residents and families devastated by this disease.
I want to thank Representative Adam Kinzinger for his years of leadership and dedication to the cause. It has been great to work with him and the Alzheimer’s Association over the years. He has participated in many Walks to End Alzheimer’s, attended Forum meetings and co-sponsored many Alzheimer’s related legislation. His steadfast support of Alzheimer’s Association-driven legislation has helped to improve the lives of those with dementia and their caregivers. As well as been instrumental in working towards a world without Alzheimer’s.
During this holiday season, please join me in thanking Representative Kinzinger and his staff for their efforts to help end Alzheimer's and dementia.
