The future of Rockford is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Jazmin Nathan, who are making a positive impact in and around Rockford.
As a DEI Student Ambassador and former Student Government Association President at Rock Valley College, Jazmin has become a driving force for inclusivity and engagement on campus. From leading discussions in the Profiles in Diversity Series to spearheading initiatives with the Black Student Union, her efforts to amplify student voices through platforms like the Viewfinder Student Culture Survey have left a lasting impact. This commitment to equity earned her the Outstanding Student Eagle Award of Excellence in DEI, a testament to her ability to create meaningful change and foster environments where everyone feels heard and valued.
Beyond the college grounds, Jazmin’s influence reverberates across the Rockford community. Partnering with state representatives, she has worked to inform and empower residents, equipping them with tools to champion causes close to their hearts. At the Youth Leadership Conference, Jazmin captivated audiences with her personal story of resilience and strength, inspiring young leaders to rise above challenges and embrace their own potential.
