New Italian Restuarant Moves Into Downtown Skokie: Report
Ascione Bistro and Bar is the newest addition to Downtown Skokie, offering tradition family recipes from Southern Italy.
SKOKIE, IL — A new Italian restaurant has moved into Downtown Skokie at the Highpoint at 8000 North, a mixed-use building that sits at the heart of the village.
Ascione Bistro and Bar, located at Lincoln Avenue and Oakton Street, offers handmade pastas, rustic entrées and classic cocktails in a beautifully designed contemporary space. Owner Alex Argirov and his wife Lauren Lucchesi also own Ascione Bistro in Hyde Park.
“We wanted to expand our business and (were) just looking to do something close to our house,” Lucchesi told the Chicago Tribune. “Something for our friends, something for our family and people in the area to enjoy."

Inside the 5,000 square foot restaurant, guests will find a 24-seat bar, semi-open-air seating and a patio.
The menu features Lucchesi family recipes from Southern Italy that go back generations, the owners told the Tribune. Highlights also include house meatballs made fresh and a salad called The Tomato, which is similar to a Caprese salad.
