3 Found Shot To Death In Springfield: Police

Police said a friend called 911 after finding the victims, sparking a homicide investigation.

SPRINGFIELD, IL — Springfield police and the Sangamon County Coroner's office confirmed that three people were found dead in a house Monday afternoon.

Police said a friend arrived at the house in the 2500 block of South 10th Street and found the three dead.

Springfield police said a homicide investigation is under way and asked anyone with information on the crime to call the Springfield Police Department at 217-788-8311 and/or Sangamon/Menard County Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427.

The State Journal-Register said there is a heavy police presence in the area, where authorities confirmed "multiple victims."
