Westchester Food Pantry Souper Bowl 2026 showcases local restaurant soups

Westchester, IL - On Saturday, January 31, 2026, the Westchester Food Pantry is excited to once again host its popular Souper Bowl! The "Souper Bowl" is the Westchester Food Pantry's largest fundraising event of the year with over 270 supporters participating. The seventh annual Souper Bowl 2026 will be held at the Westchester Park District Community Center, located at 10201 Bond Street, Westchester, IL. This event to raise much needed funds for the pantry features sixteen local chefs and their best soups while bringing the community together to share in local food, prizes, and friendship. Since 2019, the Souper Bowl has raised over $46,000 for our neighbors in need, and it has become one of the signature events for the local community. We hope you will join us!

"This past month has shown us just how powerful our community can be. With the government shutdown driving an unprecedented surge in need, the Westchester Food Pantry has seen record numbers of families seeking support. Yet in the face of this challenge, our volunteers, donors, partner organizations, local businesses, churches, and schools stepped forward without hesitation. Because of their generosity, compassion, and hard work, we were able to respond swiftly and effectively to the highest demand we’ve ever seen," said Amanda Grant, the WFP's executive director. "In November, we provided more than 350 Thanksgiving baskets to our neighbors—an extraordinary accomplishment made possible only through the collective effort of so many caring individuals. Every food drive, every donation, every hour volunteered has made a tangible difference for families navigating an extremely difficult moment. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our community and for every person who has helped ensure no one faces hunger alone."

Tickets for the event will go on sale in January 2026. The pantry's website has more details at https://westchesterfoodpantry.org/news-events/souper-bowl/. Businesses or individuals interested in supporting this annual event can become a Westchester Food Pantry sponsor, or donate an item or gift certificate to the raffle or silent auction. Contact the pantry directly at info@westchesterfoodpantry.org to learn more. Supporters of the pantry will be gifting the Westchester Food Pantry with approximately $10 of buying power through the Greater Chicago Food Depository for every $1 donated.

The Westchester Food Pantry is located at 1938 South Mannheim Road in Westchester and now serves over 440 households each month from the communities of Berkeley, Bellwood, Broadview, Hillside, Hines, La Grange Park, Westchester, and Western Springs. With the recent high inflation rates, the number of households served has increased by 75%. We are open twice a week for clients to receive fresh produce, frozen meat, canned goods, dairy products, bakery goods, and even pet food for their furry family members. Our pantry is 100% volunteer-run and relies on donations to meet our clients’ needs.

About the Westchester Food Pantry

The Westchester Food Pantry serves as a resource for those who are hungry and food insecure. Supported by the generous donations and work of our community - individuals, organizations, and businesses - we are able to supplement food needs in our village and seven neighboring communities. Our doors are open twice a week to help our neighbors in need. Through our Wet Nose Pantry, we are able to offer food and other supplies to our clients' pets so the whole family can stay together. The Westchester Food Pantry is entirely dependent on donations to keep our doors open.
