7-Year-Old Boy Shot In Stomach While Sitting In Car With His Mother: CPD
Chicago police said the incident occurred Wednesday night at around 8:20 p.m. in Ukrainian Village.

WEST SIDE, IL — A 7-year-old boy was shot while sitting in a parked car with his mother Wednesday night, Chicago police said.
The incident occurred at around 8:20 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Honore Street in Chicago's Ukrainian Village neighborhood, police said in a media notification.
Authorities said the young boy's mother was approached by a woman she did not know, who came up to the driver's side of the vehicle. Both women started arguing and the woman outside the car pulled out a gun and shot at the car before running away.

The 7-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was taken to Lurie Children's Hospital where his condition is listed as stable. A spokesperson told Patch the mother was uninjured.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday morning. Police have not yet released a description of the woman who shot the boy.
