Dognappers Toss Stolen Shih Tzu From Car, Keep Another In Armed Robbery
The owners of the 4-month-old dog are asking for their pet's safe return.

CHICAGO, IL — A West Side armed robbery turned into a dognapping Saturday night, and the canine's owners are asking the suspects to return their pet. Two shih tzus were taken at gunpoint while their owner was out walking them in the East Garfield neighborhood, according to CBS 2 Chicago. While one of the dogs was found later, the other is still missing, the report added.
The incident happened at around 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, in the 3400 block of West Franklin Boulevard during a walk for 6-year-old Zani and 4-month-old Prince. The owner told CBS 2 that two men confronted him and tried to robbed him at gunpoint. When the suspects discovered that the man was only carrying keys, they snatched his two dogs instead of valuables and sped away in a gray sedan, the report added.
Zani was found later after she apparently had been thrown from the car by her captors, the report stated. She's recovering from the ordeal, the report added.
