Girl, 16, Killed In Hit And Run Crash, Cops Looking For Driver
Police said two adults in the front seat of the car were also injured during the crash Tuesday night.
HERMOSA, IL — A 16-year-old girl was killed when the car she was in got rear-ended in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday night, Chicago police said.
Emergency crews responded to the scene in the 4500 block of West Armitage Avenue in the Hermosa neighborhood on Chicago's West Side. Officials said two adults in the front seat were also injured in the crash, which took place around 11:35 p.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed the three were traveling east in a Dodge Charger when their car was hit from behind by a tan minivan going in the same direction. The force of the crash caused the charger to spin out, hitting a parked semi-truck on the side of Armitage Avenue. The collision injured the 16-year-old passenger, who was pronounced dead at Illinois Masonic Hospital shortly after.

The 44-year-old man who was driving the charger and the 49-year-old woman in the passenger seat were treated with minor injuries at Illinois Masonic.
Police said the driver of the minivan sped off and has not been located as of Wednesday afternoon.
