Lindop 92: Broadview Residents to Get $442,343 in Property Tax Relief
Lindop 92 is one of 32 Illinois school districts to be awarded a Property Tax Relief Grant

(Broadview, IL) – Lindop School District 92 today announced that Broadview homeowners and businesses can expect $442,343 in property tax relief in each of the next two years thanks to a continuation of a state tax relief grant program.
Lindop 92 is one of 32 Illinois school districts to be awarded a Property Tax Relief Grant from the Illinois State Board of Education out of 155 districts that applied. The grant program is part of the Evidence-Based Funding for Student Success Act. The state will replace Lindop’s property tax revenue returned to taxpayers with a direct $346,123 cash grant.
“The Board of Education is thrilled to provide Broadview’s property taxpayers with $442,343 in property tax relief,” said Board President Aaron Hannah. “By receiving a direct, fixed cash grant, the state relieves the district’s budget uncertainties because each year we are unable to collect all property tax money owed to the district from economically distressed properties.”

The districts that are eligible for the state grant are those that have the highest tax rates within their elementary, high school, or unit district out of all those that applied, according to Superintendent Dr. Janiece Jackson.
“We take advantage of every opportunity to strengthen Lindop 92 finances and to save property taxpayers money,” said Dr. Jackson. “Additionally, this state program increases funding equity and adequacy for school districts like Lindop 92.”

Lindop must abate taxes for two consecutive years and its grant amount becomes a permanent part of its state Base Funding Minimum going forward.
Statewide, the Illinois State Board of Education is providing $49.3 million in grants to school districts in 2024, which will result in $54.2 million in property tax relief for Illinois residents.
"The Board of Education extends its gratitude to Governor J.B. Pritzker and Illinois state lawmakers, like House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch and Senate Majority Leader Kimberly Lightford, for their continued commitment to increasing funding equity and adequacy for Lindop 92, but also their commitment to lowering property taxes for Broadview residents,” said Hannah.
