Man Dies Touching 3rd Rail Of CTA Tracks At Ashland/Lake Station
The incident happened early Friday after a man in his 20s climbed on to the tracks in the West Town neighborhood.

CHICAGO, IL — A man who climbed down to the tracks at a West Town neighborhood CTA station was electrocuted when he touched the third rail Friday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The unidentified man, who Chicago police say was in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, the report added. The incident happened before 2 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at the Ashland/Lake station, 1601 W. Lake St., the report stated. The station is on the Green and Pink lines, and service faced delays until around 4:30 a.m., the report added.
The man's death is being investigated by Area Central detectives.
