Man in His Early 30s Dies in North Lawndale Fire

A man was found dead in a North Lawndale building that had burst into flames Tuesday morning.

CHICAGO - A man in his early 30s was found dead in a North Lawndale building that had burst into flames Tuesday morning.

Chicago Fire Department Media Affairs Director Larry Langford Tweeted about the fatal fire shortly after 10:30 a.m. Firefighters found the man on their initial search of the building in the 3500 block of West Douglas Boulevard. He had already died from his injuries.

The victim was discovered in the room where officials believe the fire started, Langford said. They had not yet determined the cause of the blaze as of 11:15 a.m.
