Metra Train Fatally Hits Boy, 17, On West Side
The teen was with another person Sunday night when he tried crossing the tracks near the Mont Clare Station.

CHICAGO, IL — A Metra train hit and killed a 17-year-old boy Sunday night while he was walking along tracks on the West Side, the Chicago Tribune reports. According to the Chicago Fire Department, Isaiis Ceja, of the 2300 block of North Rutherford Avenue, was found dead at the scene in the Montclare neighborhood, the report added.
The accident happened at about 9 p.m. Sunday, June 25, around the 7000 block of West Medill Avenue, the report stated. Isaiis was walking near the tracks by the Mont Clare Station when the outbound No. 2721 train on the Milwaukee District West line hit him, the report added. Service along the line was delayed for a few hours Sunday night because of the incident, according to the report. According to NBC 5 Chicago, another person was with Isaiis when the boy tried to cross the tracks, but that individual was unhurt, the report stated. Officials were not sure why the boy was walking around the tracks, the report added.
